Updated Chapters In Our Text:
New Law of Expropriation
Our text book, entitled the New Law of Expropriation, is updated on a regular basis with the most current legislative changes and cases. We recently completed updates and revisions of the Ontario and New Brunswick chapters of our book, with new commentary and analysis of the most recent decisions. An update of the British Columbia chapter is expected before the end of 2006. The new Alberta chapter, when issued, will address the Surface Rights Act and cases, as well as the Land Compensation Board cases under the Expropriation Act to reflect the fact that the members of these boards are now cross-appointed
Some of the features of the revised Ontario chapter include a detailed discussion of the cases on deemed expropriations, new cases and commentary on unreported decisions in Hearings of Necessity, recent cases and analysis of the business loss and disturbance damage provisions of the Act, and extensive review of the effect in Ontario of the decision of the Supreme Court of Canada in Toronto Transit Operating Authority v. Dell Holdings Ltd. For a discussion of the updates to the New Brunswick Chapter, see the link below under "Previous Topics".
