Background
Cynthia (Cindy) Clarke is the Regional Practice Group Manager for the Health Law Group in the Toronto office. She graduated from the University of Western Law School in 1997 and was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1999. Cindy earned her undergraduate degree at Huron University College, UWO.
Areas of Practice
- Civil litigation with a particular expertise in medical malpractice and product liability defence.
- Leading participant in the Firm's Class Actions Group.
- Appears before all levels of court and various administrative tribunals, including the Consent and Capacity Board, the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board, the Health Services Appeal and Review Board and the Human Rights Tribunal.

- Currently engaged as defence counsel in several multi-million dollar product liability actions
- Defends hospitals, CCACs and other health organizations in many medical malpractice actions on behalf of the Healthcare Insurance Reciprocal of Canada (HIROC)
- Represents health and service organizations in Divisional Court and before many administrative tribunals
- Acts as counsel for various organizations, often in the health sector, at Coroner’s inquests
- Advises senior hospital leadership and MACs on physician privileges issues
