Background

Larry is a partner in the Ottawa office and is the National Leader of the Insurance and Tort Law Practice Group. He graduated from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Commerce with High Honours. He received a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Toronto. He was called to the Bar of the Province of Ontario in 1996. From 2005 – 2010, he was the Head of the Ottawa Litigation Department and was a member of the Ottawa Regional Management Committee. He is the Regional Coordinator of the Product Liability Professional Group and Securities Litigation Focus Group and is a member of the Commercial Litigation and Insurance and Tort Law Groups.

Areas of Practice

• Civil Litigation - with an emphasis on insurance/personal injury law, stockbroker negligence, product liability, access to information, commercial litigation and administrative law. .Larry has made appearances as counsel in all Courts in the Province of Ontario and the Federal Court of Canada.

• Regularly acts for a number of insurers in all aspects of insurance litigation, risk and bodily injury claims, property damage claims and coverage issues.
• Counsel to a number of investment and mutual fund dealers in the context of stockbroker negligence and regulatory matters.
• Counsel to a number of manufacturers in matters relating to product liability.
• Counsel to a number of Federal Government Institutions, Ministers' Offices, individuals and Corporations in proceedings related to Access to Information.
• Co-Counsel in a major class proceeding against the Ford Motor Company of Canada Limited.
• Acted as Amicus Curiae in the Caledonia land dispute.
