Background
Larry Jackie is a senior litigation partner at our Vancouver office. Larry was admitted to the British Columbia bar in 1975. He is a graduate of the University of British Columbia Law School with a Bachelor of Laws in 1972. Prior to that, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary in 1969.
Areas of Practice
- Larry practises in the areas of professional liability, commercial litigation, product liability and insurance litigation, criminal litigation, administrative hearings, securities litigation, and appellate litigation.
Professional Experience
- Larry has practised as a Crown Counsel from 1975 to 1981 with the Ministry of the Attorney General in Vancouver. During this period, he prosecuted many serious and highly publicized cases.
- Broad range of experience as a civil and criminal litigation lawyer. In latter years, his practice has focused on the areas of professional liability litigation, commercial litigation, product liability defence litigation and administrative proceedings.
- Has appeared as counsel before the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the British Columbia Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as the British Columbia Securities Commission and other administrative and regulatory tribunals.
Professional and Community Activities
- Frequently appears as a speaker at the request of professional and continuing education organizations addressing a variety of litigation topics.
- Member of the Canadian Bar Association and the International Bar Association.
