Background
François Longpré is a partner at our Montréal office. Admitted to the Québec Bar in 1989, François graduated from McGill University in 1988 with degrees in both Common Law and Québec Civil Law. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University. He has held senior management positions within the firm, including National Leader and Montreal Regional Leader of our Labour & Employment Practice Group.

- In the area of labour relations, he represents employers before arbitrators, the Labour Relations Board and at the bargaining table. He regularly appears before the civil courts in wrongful dismissal claims and defends employers faced with employment standards complaints. He has often appeared before the Occupational Injuries Board.
- He advises vendors and purchasers on labour and employment issues in the context of commercial transactions.
- He gives practical advice to his clients to help them manage litigation risks and deal with issues strategically.
- He is regularly called upon to speak publicly in continuing education forums and in the media on matters relevant to his practice.
