Background
Carolyn MacDonald is an associate at our Vancouver office. Ms. MacDonald was admitted to the British Columbia bar in 2008. She graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Laws in 2007. Prior to law school, Ms. MacDonald obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University in 2004.

Professional Experience
- Ms. MacDonald joined the firm in January of 2009. Prior to joining Borden Ladner Gervais, she articled and practiced with another firm in Vancouver.
- Ms. MacDonald has completed Parts I and II of the CICA In-Depth Tax Course, and attended the CBA Tax Law for Lawyers Course in 2010.
- Ms. MacDonald has been involved with a number of tax-driven transactions, including:
- structuring for non-resident corporations carrying on business in Canada and for Canadian corporations carrying on business internationally;
- reorganization and refinancing transactions involving foreign subsidiaries of Canadian corporations;
- share/unit offerings for public corporations and flow-through limited partnerships;
- mergers and business acquisitions involving public and private corporations;
- non-resident trust structures for high net worth immigrants to Canada; and
- estate planning and other reorganizations involving closely-held private corporations and high net worth individuals.
