Background

Patrice Martin is a partner at our Montréal office. Patrice was called to the Québec Bar in 1995 and is a graduate of the Université de Montréal Law School. He also completed the Canadian Securities Institute Course in 1993.

Areas of Practice

• Patrice practises in our Corporate Commercial Group with a focus on mergers and acquisitions and technology law.
• Leading counsel on files concerning private acquisitions and sales, capital investment, outsourcing arrangements, complex service agreements as well as licensing and/or technology development agreements.

Professional Experience

• Patrice has led or participated in transactions in several industries including information technology, telecommunications, aerospace, energy, transportation, manufacturing and consulting services.
• Acted for several important companies such as Groupe Jean Coutu, HP, Bell Canada, Bell Aliant, Télébec, Business Development Bank of Canada, Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec, Aéroports de Montréal, Logistec-Termont, CGI, Fujitsu Conseil (DMR), Pratt & Whitney Canada, Iron Mountain Corporation, Nokia-Siemens, Gaz Métro, Group Aeroplan and Groupe Saint-Hubert as well as many technology SME.

• Patrice was BLG’s Regional Manager for the Corporate and Commercial law group in Montréal, from 2008 to 2011, and a member of the Partners’ Compensation Regional Committee (Montréal), from 2007 to 2010
