Background
Winnie Tse is a partner at our Toronto office. Ms. Tse holds an LL.B from the University of Toronto and an LL.M from Osgoode Hall Law School, and was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1984.
Prior to that, she majored in Sociology and received a Bachelor of Arts, First Class Honours, from McGill University in 1979. Ms. Tse also attended Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Ms. Tse is fluent in English and speaks some Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).

Professional Experience
- Ms. Tse has been responsible for precedent development at BLG since 2002.
- Before assuming the role as National Precedents Partner, Ms. Tse practised for many years in the area of Corporate and Commercial Law, with emphasis on financings and mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Tse’s mandates have included:
- Acting as lead counsel on numerous Canadian public offerings and Canadian and U.S. private placements.
- Acted as lead counsel on numerous share and asset purchases and sales of ongoing businesses.
- Acted for borrowers on numerous bank financings.
Professional and Community Activities
- Member of the Canadian Bar Association.
- Former member of the board of directors and of the Fund-raising Committee of the Board of Directors of the Zoological Society of Metropolitan Toronto.
- Former member of the Marketing Advisory Committee of the Board of Directors of the Zoological Society of Metropolitan Toronto.
- Former member of the Genesis Research Foundation Organizing Committee responsible for sponsoring and organizing the Canadian Antique Dealers Association Annual Antiques Fair.
