Background
David Longcroft is a real estate partner and the Regional Leader of the Business Department in our Vancouver office. David was admitted to the British Columbia Bar in 1989. He received a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Toronto in 1988 and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from McGill University in 1984.

Professional Experience
- Has a wide range of clients, including national and local developers, publicly listed real estate companies, institutional investors, securities underwriters and mining, forestry and railway companies.
- Acts for developers of residential, retail and office development projects, from assembly and acquisition of land, through the development and subdivision approval process, lease-up and sale.
- Has completed numerous air space parcel subdivisions in connection with mixed-use developments, including an air space parcel subdivision creating nine air space parcels within a facility comprising university, retail and office space.
- Acts for institutional real estate investment entities such as insurance companies, pension funds and REITs in connection with the purchase, sale, leasing and financing of retail, office and industrial properties.
- Acts for hotel owners connection with the purchase, sale, refinancing and development of hotel and resort properties.
- Acts for mezzanine lenders, including financings of hotel and resort projects.
- Acts for landlords of large apartment building portfolios in connection with the sale and purchase, redevelopment and financing of their buildings.
- Acts for short-line railway companies in connection with the acquisition and operation of provincial short-lines.
- Acted for underwriters and lenders to a hotel REIT in carrying out due diligence and simultaneous closing of 15 hotels across Canada.
- Acted for the lead proponent of a medical building REIT in negotiating the purchase of a portfolio of buildings in Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia.
- Acted for a landfill operator in carrying out significant due diligence and regulatory review in connection with the acquisition of a ranch property for landfill purposes.

- Past Chair, Vancouver Real Property Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association.
