Background

Philippe Tardif is a business law partner in our Toronto office. He is the Toronto regional leader for our Securities & Capital Markets group. Philippe was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1987. He graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1985. Prior to that he majored in business administration and received an Honors BA (Business Administration) from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario in 1982.

Philippe was seconded to the Ontario Securities Commission from 1989 to 1991 where he served as counsel in the Corporate Finance Branch, the Enforcement Branch and the General Counsel's office.

Areas of Practice

  • Philippe is a member of the Firm's Securities and Capital Market Group. His practice is focused on:
    • corporate finance: public and private equity and debt financings, including cross-border financings and public offerings of corporate and trust issuers
    • mergers and acquisitions involving public companies
    • corporate governance matters, including board and special committee advisory roles
    • advice to self regulatory organizations
