Executive Summary

Patricia Olah is National Head of Talent Development – Matter Effectiveness based in our Montréal office. Patricia leads the talent development program for the Firm's lawyers in the area of matter efficiency and effectiveness, focusing on the application of legal project management and process improvement methods and practices, as well as the utilization of Alternative Fee Arrangements.

Patricia is a seasoned lawyer with over 25 years of international commercial law and litigation experience. Combining her legal experience with her training in project management and process improvement methodologies, she develops and delivers training and development programs to support the Firm's lawyers in more effectively managing the planning, budgeting, execution and control of the work and budget for their clients.

Prior to joining the Firm, Patricia spent 15 years with the BCE Inc. group of companies, including Bell Canada, having served in several senior executive legal positions, including as Special Advisor to BCE's Chief Legal Officer, as BCE's Vice-President & Corporate Secretary, and as Vice-President, Legal of numerous public/private subsidiaries.

Before relocating to Montréal in 1994, Patricia worked in New York City as a corporate lawyer with the international law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, and as litigation counsel with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Representative Work

  • Working with various practice groups of the Firm to improve efficiency and enhance value in the delivery of legal services to clients in areas including (among others): Corporate Commercial, Commercial Real Estate, Commercial Litigation, Financial Services, and Securities and Capital Markets.
  • Supporting the Firm in the development of alternative fee arrangements
  • Supporting the Firm in the application of project management methodologies, including scoping, work planning, scheduling and budgeting.
  • Providing consulting services in process and project management to clients’ in-house legal departments.
