Ryan is a graduate of the McGill BCL/LL.B. National Programme. Prior to his legal studies, Ryan completed a Bachelors of Engineering at McGill University followed by a research assistantship in the McGill Comminution Laboratory. An avid sports fan, Ryan has been a competitive swimmer for more than twenty years and has competed at both the national and international level. His most recent athletic pursuits include the FISU Summer Universiade in Bangkok, Thailand and the Swimming Canada 2008 Beijing Olympic Trials. In addition to life as a student-athlete, Ryan has been very active within the McGill Community as a founder of the McGill Swimming Association, a director of the Students' Society of McGill University, as president and chairman of the Students' Athletics Council, a member of the McGill Athletics Board and a member of the McGill Hall of Fame Committee. A music lover at heart, Ryan also enjoys photography and travel. A Gatineau native, Ryan is also fluently bilingual. If he had not gone to law school, Ryan would either be a physicist or a pianist. |
