Valérie completed her civil law degree at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) as well as a Master of Laws at New York University, with a focus on private international law and class actions. She completed the professional training at École du Barreau in 2009, after a one-year clerkship with the Honourable Marie Deschamps at the Supreme Court of Canada . Prior to that, Valérie also graduated in 2005 with a bachelor of International Relations and International Law from UQAM. She discovered law and litigation while participating in the Charles-Rousseau International Public Law Moot court, Moot court for which she acted as trainer for the UQAM team in the 2009-2010 edition. Over the years, she was also involved in ProBono Students Canada, the Quebec Journal of International Law and the Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust. Valérie has a variety of interests, from sports to travels, including cooking and reading. She is bilingual and speaks Spanish at an intermediary level. Had not gone to law school, Valérie would have opened a café on the beach. |
