Background
Katherine Cooligan is a partner in our Ottawa Office. She is the manager of the Ottawa Litigation Department, a member of the Regional Management Committee and, the Regional Leader of the Family Law Group. Katherine received her law degree from the University of Ottawa and was called to the Bar in Ontario in 1991. During the Bar Admission Course, Katherine was awarded the Abraham Lieff Scholarship Award for demonstrating excellence in the skills required in family law practice. Katherine has been certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a specialist in Family Law.

- Katherine relies upon her training in mediation of matrimonial disputes with CDR Associates in Boulder, Colorado, together with her Bachelor of Arts Degree with a combined major in law and psychology to assist her in conducting mediations

- Member of the Advocates Society, Canadian Bar Association, County of Carleton Law Association and Women's Law Association
- Former Member of the Regional Law Day Committee (4 years)

- As an involved member of the Ottawa community, Katherine has participated on the organizing committee of many fundraising events, including 'Lawyers for Kids' and as a former board member of the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario Foundation. She is an annual volunteer at the CHEO Telethon and Teddy Bear Picnic
