Background
Randy Zettle is an associate lawyer in the Health Law Group at our Toronto office. Randy was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1996. He graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University in Toronto in 1994.
In addition to being a lawyer in the Health Law Group in our Toronto office, Randy is also a physician. In 1983, he graduated from the University of Toronto with a Doctor of Medicine (with Honours) degree. In 1992, he obtained a Certificate in Family Medicine and a Certificate of Special Competence in Emergency Medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada. While Randy spends the majority of his time at Borden Ladner Gervais, he is licensed to practice medicine in the Province of Ontario and maintains a part-time medical practice.
Areas of Practice
- Randy practises exclusively in the areas of Health Law and Personal Injury Litigation. The majority of Randy’s practice is defending hospitals and their staff from medical malpractice actions. Randy is frequently involved in the personal injury aspects of the defence of other actions on behalf of large corporate clients. Randy spends a small amount of his time acting on behalf of plaintiffs in medical malpractice actions.

- Frequently authors articles and presents papers on various healthcare topics including consent to treatment, clinical practice guidelines and risk management issues
- Works closely with other members of the firm in investigating and understanding the medical issues that arise in their personal injury files
