Vern graduated from the University of Manchester (UK) – B.Comm.; University of Alberta – MBA, LLB; Harvard Law School – LLM; Cambridge University (UK) – DCL. Vern is a member of the Bar of Ontario (1983), a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, Fellow of the Certified General Accountants of Canada and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb).
