Janet Kasun is an associate in the Ottawa office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP. A member of the Tax and Wealth Management groups, she focuses on commodity tax, assisting parties both in the negotiation process and in the structuring of transactions. She provides advice both directly to clients and to her colleagues in the course of transactional work with respect to a wide range of commodity tax issues. In particular, Janet has advised on transactional matters in mergers and acquisitions, a wide range of real property issues affecting individuals, businesses and public sector participants, and cross-border issues.
Janet frequently advises clients in the aviation industry on tax issues arising from the procurement, import and export of aircraft.
