Charetina Lougheed practises civil litigation, including insurance law, municipal and police liability, product liability and occupier's liability. She defends claims related to property damage, non-repair of roadways and sidewalks, personal injury, motor vehicle accidents, occupiers' liability and product liability on behalf of municipalities, insurance companies, and corporate clients. She also defends police liability claims including malicious prosecution, false arrest, negligence, negligent investigation, assault and breach of Charter rights. As well, her practice includes advising insurance clients on coverage issues and disputes.
Charetina has acted as both lead counsel and co-counsel at trials. She has argued contested motions at the Superior Court of Justice, and conducted mediations and examinations for discovery. Charetina joined the Toronto office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP as an associate after having summered and articled at the Firm.
