Background
Maryam Sherkat is an associate at our Vancouver office. After a judicial clerkship with the Court of Appeal for British Columbia, Ms. Sherkat was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2005. She graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2004 with a Bachelor of Laws. Prior to attending law school, she received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology from the University of British Columbia.
Areas of Practice
- Ms. Sherkat practices in the area of civil litigation with a focus on tort and insurance matters, stockbroker - investment dealer litigation, products liability, maritime, and environmental law.
Professional Experience
- Judicial law clerk with the Court of Appeal for British Columbia from 2004-05.
- Completed articles with the firm and joined as an associate in 2006.
- Has appeared as trial counsel and brought various applications before the Supreme and Provincial Courts of British Columbia.

- Member of the Canadian Bar Association.
- Member of the Law Society of British Columbia.
- Participant with the BLG Reads to Kids Program.
