Purpose of the Role

BLG is looking for a Senior Law Clerk/Paralegal with a strong background in Corporate Law to join its Paraprofessional Services Group leadership team supporting its 250+ Law Clerks, Paralegals and Specialists (Paraprofessionals). This role can be located in any of the BLG regional offices.
The Senior Coordinator, Paraprofessional Services, Corporate and Capital Markets provides national support to the Firm’s Corporate Commercial and Securities Paraprofessionals across all its offices, including the coordination of Paraprofessional career management, capacity management, performance management and talent development programs.
You will be a key member of the Corporate and Capital Markets practice as well as the Paraprofessional Services Group leadership team working to provide the highest level of client service while having the opportunity to cultivate and share your skills as part of a dynamic and successful national team.
Key Responsibilities and Competencies
The ideal candidate has a minimum of 10 years experience as a Law Clerk/Paralegal in Corporate Law, as well as demonstrated team leadership experience. The Senior Coordinator is expected to maintain a high level of practice specific knowledge and perform high-level corporate billable work when required.
You will have a strong work ethic, possess a mind-set of continuous improvement, and are a self-starter in a fast-paced environment. Right from the start, you will have opportunity to:
- Support the delivery of the Paraprofessional services within the Corporate Commercial and Securities practices, coordinating Paraprofessional workflow and talent capacity across the offices;
- Drive the implementation of new technology, programs, policies and procedures to promote consistent Paraprofessional practices with the Corporate Commercial and Securities practices;
- Identify and recommend solutions to increase efficiencies and productivity within your practice areas;
- Work as member of a collaborative team to mentor and share your corporate knowledge with students, associates and junior law clerks.
Bilingualism is an asset and ability to travel to the various regional BLG offices may be required.
