Naveen Hassan

Senior Associate


Naveen focuses her practice in a range of health care matters.

She represents hospitals and their employees in complex medical malpractice actions, as well as class action defence. Her practice includes advising hospitals and children's mental health centres on day-to-day risk management and policy issues, as well as health-related legislation.

Naveen appears regularly before administrative tribunals, representing hospitals and other health-care institutions. Naveen has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, as well as the Ontario Human Rights Commission.

She specializes in mental health law, with a focus on children's mental health.


  • Provides advice, legal support and policy review on matters including child and adolescent health, capacity and consent to treatment, and research ethics.
  • Represents the person in charge of forensic psychiatric facilities before the Ontario Review Board and on appeal of those decisions at the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
  • Provides legal support to hospitals and other health-care facilities undergoing external reviews.
