Ewa Krajewska



Ewa is focused on solving her clients’ most complex and sensitive problems. She provides strategic advice to businesses, institutions and individuals who are facing or are trying to avoid litigation.

Ewa has a diverse practice, working with clients across a broad range of industries, in areas such as corporate commercial litigation, estates litigation, energy litigation, appellate advocacy, judicial review and public law. Ewa’s breadth of experience means she is able to find creative and insightful solutions to problems faced by clients.
Ewa is the co-chair of the Appellate Advocacy Group and has argued appeals at the Ontario Court of Appeal and appeared numerous times for interveners before the Supreme Court of Canada.

Prior to joining the firm, Ewa served as law clerk to the Honourable Justice Rosalie Silberman Abella of the Supreme Court of Canada. Ewa is co-chair of the Firm’s Appellate Advocacy Group. She is fluent in French and Polish.


  • Counsel to the Leaders Debate Commission on an application before the Federal Court of Canada by Rebel Media and True North for media accreditation for the federal leaders’ debate.
  • Counsel to the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation on an application before the Divisional Court.
  • Counsel to the Chief Electoral Officer of Canada before the Federal Court of Canada in an application challenging his decision not to move the date for the federal election Aryeh-Bain v Canada.
  • Counsel to the Minute Maid corporation on a judicial review application of a licensing application before the New Brunswick Court of Queen’s Bench.
  • Counsel before the Supreme Court of Canada for the Canadian Civil Liberties Association on the availability of habeas corpus to immigration detainees to challenge their detention (decision on reserve).
  • Counsel before the Supreme Court of Canada for the HIV AIDS Legal Clinic Ontario and the Income Security Advocacy Centre in S.A. v Metro Vancouver, a case that upheld the use of Henson Trusts as a planning tool for persons with disabilities.
  • Counsel for Humber River Regional Hospital on the constitutionality of the common law definition of death Ouanounou v Humber River Hospital et al.
  • Counsel before the Supreme Court of Canada for the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the Canadian Federation of Business at the Supreme Court of Canada in R v Comeau, a decision that dealt with interprovincial trade of beer.
  • Counsel before the Supreme Court of Canada for the Canadian Civil Liberties Association in Amaratunga v. Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organizationon the jurisdictional immunity of international organizations.
  • Counsel before the Supreme Court of Canada for the Muslim Canadian Congress in R v. N.S. on the right of a woman to wear a niqab while testing at trial.
  • Counsel for Ontario Shores on the constitutionality of certain criminal code provisions Kobzar (Re).
  • Defended successfully a municipal councillor against conflict of interest allegations – Lorello v Meffe.
  • Responding to a Will challenge – Counsel for estate trustee before the Court of Appeal for Ontario in Neuberger v. York on the novel issue of whether estoppel applies in Will challenges.
  • Pursuing advisors, attorneys for property and trustees who are alleged to have defrauded beneficiaries.
  • Obtaining advances on equalizations of net family property - Skrobacky v. Frymer.
  • Shareholder disputes in private and closely held corporations - Trezzi v Trezzi.
  • Dissolution of a real estate partnerships – Nasjjec v Nuyork.
  • Contested passings of account – Vano (Re).
