Matti Lemmens



Matti practices in all areas of commercial litigation. She has experience representing Canadian and international clients in litigation and alternative dispute resolution.

Matti has appeared before the Provincial Court of Alberta, the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, the Nova Scotia Supreme Court, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Supreme Court of the Falkland Islands, the Federal Court (Canada), the Alberta Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.

Matti is the Environmental Group leader in our Calgary office.


  • Representing clients in various insolvency matters, including the monitor in cross-border restructurings, the receiver in various Alberta receiverships and creditors in various Canadian insolvency proceedings.
  • Representing clients before the ICC International Court of Arbitration.
  • Representing international oil & gas companies in environmental contamination disputes.
  • Representing clients in relation to intellectual property disputes, including copyright infringement, breach of confidentiality and trademark infringement.
  • Representing clients on environmental aspects of transactions.
