Lauren Phizicky



Lauren advises and assists international and domestic clients from various sectors on a wide range of issues, including privacy and anti-spam, data breach management, cybersecurity issues, consumer protection and commercial matters. Lauren regularly deals with access to information requests and completes privacy impact assessments for clients from various industries.

In addition to obtaining her law degree from McGill University, Lauren also studied at the University of Melbourne in Australia and the University of Groningen in the Netherlands.


  • Has advised various clients about the legal risks related to the management of personal information, including in the context of online advertising, big data projects, cloud computing and outsourcing.
  • Has assisted a multinational company in an investigation carried out by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada concerning the management of anonymized personal information.
  • Has drafted various policies and procedures, such as website privacy policies, policies governing the use of employers' equipment by employees and privacy breach response procedures.
  • Has advised clients regarding breach management and reporting involving personal information and personal health information.
  • Has advised clients on cross-border requirements for employee data and drafted relevant policies.
