Jeremy Bolger’s maritime and transportation law practice provides advice on commercial, administrative, regulatory and litigation matters. His broad client base includes:

  • terminal operators
  • stevedores
  • financial institutions
  • freight forwarders, shippers, road carriers, ship-owners and managers
  • cargo interests, warehousemen, charterers and operators, including their respective agents and underwriters

Mr. Bolger has appeared before all levels of Québec provincial and federal courts, as well as administrative tribunals.

Experience

  • Defence of marine surveying firm with respect to a $45 million claim for damaged cargo.
  • Defence of ship-owner for a $10 million claim for dock damage.
  • Assertion of claim for $60 million for professional negligence.
  • Defence of ship-owner with respect to $1.5 million claim for personal injuries suffered by stevedore.
  • Successful defence of marine insurer relating to denial of coverage for total loss of vessel.
  • Successful claim by ship-owner for $850,000 in damages to vessel arising from unsafe berth.
  • Successful defence of ship-owner in respect of a $2 million claim by crew member for personal injuries.
  • Successful defence of a ship-owner in respect of a $500,000 claim for alleged breach of time charter party.
