Matthew’s practice focuses on trademark prosecution, litigation, enforcement, anti-counterfeiting and domain issues, both in Canada and internationally. He has worked with a variety of clients—from small businesses to multinational corporations—in the selection and prosecution of trademarks in Canada.
He has assisted clients before the Trademarks Opposition Board and the Federal Court of Canada
Prior to joining BLG, Matthew worked in the intellectual property department of a large national firm in Ottawa. Before pursuing law, he worked as a software developer at a leading insurance company and at a nuclear power generator
