As Chief Talent Officer, Leanne is responsible for leading and managing BLG’s most valuable asset – its people.
Working alongside firm management, Leanne is in charge of creating and managing the strategy, direction and processes related to building and retaining BLG’s world class team of both legal and business professionals.
In this role, Leanne’s mandate includes managing all talent aspects of the firm in order to build a workplace and culture that fosters BLG’s values, business objectives and strategic growth initiatives.
Leanne is a trusted advisor to the firm’s leadership and is a member of the National Management Committee and the National Operations Group, working closely with the Chief Operating Officer and National Managing Partner.
Leanne leads and directs a national group that is responsible for sourcing, managing, mentoring and empowering BLG’s team of over 2000 people across Canada. She is responsible for the management of compensation and benefits, and she is charged with modernizing the firm’s policies and procedures, including the administration of an industry-leading diversity and inclusion program.
Prior to her role as Chief Talent Officer, Leanne spent seven years working in various Talent roles both nationally and regionally (Calgary) with BLG. Leanne is a professional coach and former practicing lawyer. Prior to joining BLG, spent two years coaching lawyers and 18 years in practice in both large firm and boutique settings.
