Stéphanie is a Commercial Litigation lawyer who specializes in securities litigation, banking litigation, class actions and international arbitration. She represents registrants and public companies and their respective officers, directors and shareholders in class action proceedings, and all manner of securities and regulatory investigations and prosecutions.

Stéphanie's areas of focus include:

  • Class actions, including securities class actions and unpaid wages class actions;
  • Securities litigation and regulation, including broker liability and departing broker litigation, as well as investigations and proceedings before Provincial Securities Commissions, IIROC and the MFDA;
  • International arbitration, including investor-state dispute settlement proceedings; and
  • General commercial litigation, including contractual and enforcement matters, and fraud.

Before joining BLG, Stéphanie served as a law clerk to the Honourable Justices Martineau, Mosley and Sadrehashemi of the Federal Court of Canada. During law school, she completed internships at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes and the Office of the Honourable Marc Gold of the Senate of Canada.

Experience

  • Counsel for Amazon in an unpaid wages and overtime class claim.
  • Pardhan v. Bank of Montreal and Kherani v. Bank of Montreal: acting for BMO in a class action concerning a fraud committed by a BMO customer.
