  • Acted as the team leader (common law jurisdictions) in a comprehensive insurance policy wording review project (commercial liability, commercial property, and related coverages) to assess legislative compliance and coverage risk issues for national insurance company.
  • Prepared an argument on insurer subrogation issues arising out of complex product liability claim, which was settled favourably for our client (the claimant purchaser).
  • Provided advice and opinions to government corporations on legislative constraints and obligations, and related director/officer liability risks, in respect of fiscal and business management decisions.
  • Prepared an argument on complex equitable contribution and subrogation issues arising in personal injury and product liability litigation, which was settled favourably for our client (the defendant manufacturer).
  • Prepared insurance coverage opinions in respect of various liability and property policies.
  • Provided advice on the legal risks of a proposed deal structure involving upstream change of control issues.
