Max is reocgnized for his experience, expertise and practical advice for dealing with complex issues arising at the intersection of law and technology. He is BLG's lead on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and a member of the Privacy and Data Protection group.

Max provides assistance and strategic guidance to organizations relating to privacy and data protection, the use of AI and other advanced technologies, and information governance and risk management strategies. He also advises on transactions involving technology, technology licensing agreements and related corporate commercial matters.

Before studying law, Max worked in information technology as a project manager and departmental director at a number of private companies and public institutions.

Max speaks and publishes regularly on the topic of law and technology, including artificial intelligence, privacy law matters, privacy-protecting technologies, distributed ledger technologies, IoT and smart cities, and has taught students on the tax implications of cryptocurrencies at McGill's Faculty of Law. He has also served as a law clerk at the Supreme Court of Israel for Justice Hanan Melcer and at the Court of Appeal of Québec for the Honourable Nicholas Kasirer.


  • Epiroc Canada Holding Inc., a subsidiary of Epiroc Rock Drills AB, in its acquisition of 100% of MineRP Holdings Inc. from Dundee Precious Metals Inc. (TSX: DPM).
  • Advises various Canadian and international entities and their boards on privacy and data security compliance (risk analysis and advice, information governance, data mapping, impact assessments, policies, procedures and training).
  • Advises various Canadian and international entities on technology matters (service and licensing agreements, use of machine learning, distributed ledger and privacy-protecting technologies).
  • Advises various Canadian entities on corporate commercial matters.
