Émilie specializes in health-related matters involving civil and professional liability. Émilie often acts in disputes involving medical and hospital liability, consent to care and confinement in health care institutions, and the interpretation of legislation applying to health care and social service institutions.

Émilie speaks English, French and Spanish fluently.

Before joining BLG, she served for ten months as a Fellow with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights of the Organisation of American States (IACHR, OAS) in Washington, D.C. She also clerked with the Honourable Justice André Rochon of the Québec Court of Appeal.

Community Involvement

  • Émilie regularly acts in pro bono cases handled by BLG
  • In particular, she represents families referred to BLG by the Fondation du Dr. Julien, an NGO that advocates for social pediatrics, before civil courts and administrative tribunals

Awards & Recognitions

  • Émilie was awarded the Brian Tittemore Scholarship for a 10-month fellowship with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights of the Organisation of American States (IACHR, OAS), in Washington, D.C., in 2009.
  • She was a member of the winning team in the Charles-Rousseau Public International Law Moot Competition in 2007.
  • She also twice (2007 and 2008) won the Scholarship of Excellence in the Faculty of Political Science and Law of the Université du Québec à Montréal.
