Barbara is a disputes lawyer. She advocates for clients in a range of commercial disputes, including:

Barbara advocates for clients at arbitrations, mediations, before tribunals and in court. She has successfully represented clients in the Provincial Court of British Columbia, the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the Court of Appeal for British Columbia, the Provincial Court of Alberta and the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta.

Experience

  • Degen v. British Columbia, 2019 BCSC 1216: successfully applied to have claim of malicious prosecution summarily dismissed and obtained an order for costs on behalf of client.
  • Siemens v. Howard, 2018 BCCA 197: successfully defended appeal of a real estate dispute regarding implied agency.
  • Gorman v Meghji, 2018 BCSC 1904: successfully represented client at trial in a motor vehicle accident case.
  • S.T. v. J.B., 2014 ABPC 287: as a law student, successfully represented family law client at trial.
