Stacy specializes in real estate development, municipal, provincial, and expropriation matters in Alberta and British Columbia.
She assists clients with navigating the municipal and development approvals process, as well as negotiating with governments for land use planning and development matters, and interpreting and applying municipal plans and policies. A collaborator and litigator, Stacy advises private property owners and developers on the limits of government authority, legal options to achieve development success, and strategies for development approval processes. Stacy also has an extensive expropriation practice, assisting private landowners and tenants who are facing expropriation by government authorities.
Stacy drafts development and other agreements for developers and assists clients with defending and resolving municipal enforcement issues. She is also experienced in mediating and advising on complex multi-stakeholder arrangements, including negotiations with numerous government stakeholders. Stacy specializes in finding solutions to complex problems and is known for thinking outside the box for moving matters forward.
Prior to working at BLG, Stacy worked as a municipal lawyer for the cities of Calgary and Toronto, and as a real estate developer on master-planned, mixed-use communities in Vancouver.
