Andy’s practice focuses on privacy and cybersecurity. He advises businesses from various sectors on issues ranging from compliance with privacy, to data protection, to anti-spam laws. He also assists businesses on matters pertaining to IT, AI, big data analytics, consumer protection and data breach management.

Andy was media editor for the McGill Journal of Dispute Resolution, and has also authored and contributed to various publications pertaining to privacy, cybersecurity and technology law.

He has had articles published in Canada Privacy Law Review relating to the legal implications of repurposing publicly-available information for commercial purposes and upcoming legal amendments to Québec privacy law.

Andy has also contributed to recent privacy and technology books, including the The Protection of Personal Information in the Private Sector in Québec: Looking Back and Thinking Forward (Yvon Blais, 2020) and Managing Privacy in a Connected World (LexisNexis, 2020) on chapters about global risks, the EU General Data Protection Regulation, blockchain and distributed ledger technologies.

Prior to joining BLG, he was co-chair of Start Proud Montréal, a non-profit organization that facilitates the professional development of LGBTQ+ students as they transition from school to careers.
