Scott specializes in patents related to clean technology and life sciences. This includes:

Scott is active in patenting industrial water and wastewater treatment technology using physical, chemical and biological methods.

 

In addition to drafting patent applications and prosecuting them through the patent office, Scott is active in contentious and corrective procedures such as protests, reissues, re-examinations and litigation. Scott also manages litigation and oppositions for companies involved in international disputes.

  • Acts for life sciences, water, energy, clean tech, biogas and biomaterials companies in patent prosecution and procurement matters.
  • Represents clients in the water treatment industry in U.S. patent appeals.
  • Represents clients in U.S. and Canadian patent re-examination and re-issue applications.
  • Advises clients in membrane filtration, hydrogen and biopolymer industries on international patent opposition and litigation strategies.   
  • Advises clients in the water, biofuels and biomaterials industries on patent valuation and investments in technology ventures.
