Chanel provides strategic advice to a wide range of clients in both English and French on employment and human rights matters.

Chanel has specialized expertise in crisis management and misconduct investigations, including sexual misconduct and discrimination. She advises clients on sensitive matters which are the subject of public and media scrutiny.

Chanel is also a trusted advisor of BLG's transactional team, and also regularly acts as employment and labour law specialist in the context of transactions.

Prior to joining BLG, Chanel worked as a labour and employment lawyer in a prominent international law firm. She also acted as a professional investigator in a specialized firm in prevention and management of workplace harassment and violence.

  • Acted as Ethics Commissioner for a reality television show
  • Counsel for a telecommunications company on a complex medical accommodation file
  • Counsel for a telecommunications company on a human rights complaints relating to accessibility before the Canadian Human Rights Commission
  • Counsel to The Honourable Louise Arbour, appointed to review sexual harassment and sexual misconduct in the Canadian Armed Forces and Department of National Defence.
