Mathilde Viau-Tassé practices primarily in civil and commercial litigation, indigenous law and public law. She also focuses her practice on appeal procedures.

Prior to joining BLG, in 2021 and 2022, Mathilde clerked at the Supreme Court of Canada to the Right Honourable Richard Wagner, Chief Justice of Canada. She also worked as a law clerk at the Québec Court of Appeal, first for the Honourable Nicholas Kasirer and then for the Honourable Lucie Fournier, from 2019 to 2021.

In addition to her law degree, Mathilde holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and International Law from UQAM and a master’s degree in Legal Anthropology from Université de Montréal.
