Cindy Zhang

JD, M.Mus, BA, B.Mus. (Hons.)



Cindy maintains a diverse financial services practice. She advises clients in a variety of legislative matters with a focus in banking regulatory, fintech, payment processing, and regulatory advice that includes knowledge in anti-money laundering, cost of borrowing and consumer protection. She has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice (Ontario) and the Ontario Court of Appeal, and has supported financial institutions in various dispute processes. Cindy also supports clients in lending and insolvency.

Prior to joining BLG, Cindy performed as a classical singer, appearing as Princess Mi in the Toronto Operetta Theatre’s production of Das Land des Lächelns, and as a soloist in houses including Carnegie Hall (New York), the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts (formerly known as the Hummingbird Centre) (Toronto), and the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall (Little Rock, Arkansas).

Cindy summered and articled with BLG before joining the firm as an associate. While articling at BLG, Cindy was seconded to The Bank of Montréal.
