Sarah McGuire

Summer Student

Sarah is a summer student at BLG’s Calgary office for the 2020 summer term. She is focusing on litigation.
As a law student, Sarah volunteers with the Legal Help Centre and is the Vice President of the Robson Hall chapter of the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers. She is actively involved in Robson Hall’s bilingual law program. Prior to joining BLG, Sarah worked as a Human Resources professional, primarily in community healthcare, and taught English at the university level in China and Saudi Arabia.
Sarah chose BLG because the authenticity of the firm’s culture and its people stood out to her; it was clear that BLG genuinely embodies its values and that there is a willingness to support students and share knowledge. The diversity of BLG’s team also appealed to Sarah, as she believes that a variety of backgrounds and perspectives is invaluable in the legal field.

In her spare time, Sarah enjoys staying physically active by hitting the gym, doing yoga, and hiking outdoors. She loves to read and write and travel to new and adventurous places. She also likes spending time with family, friends and her pet cat.
