Ndeye Oumy Ba is a graduate of the University of Montréal Faculty of Law and joined BLG as a law student in 2022.
Prior to joining the BLG team, Oumy was a student with an immigration law firm. She was a student with the Québec Human Rights Tribunal, which allowed her to develop skills in researching and drafting legal documents.
Throughout her studies, Oumy was involved in community-based projects, social justice campaigns, and public dialogue centred on human rights, racial justice and women’s leadership. She was the coordinator of the Pro Bono section of the University of Montréal and was the sponsorship vice-president for the Black Law Students Association, promoting diversity and inclusion within the Faculty of Law and the legal community in Québec. She also co-hosted “Touche pas à mes droits/Don’t touch my rights”, a legal podcast about racial profiling.
