Ryan is an articling student for the 2021-22 term. He returns to BLG after summering with the firm in 2020, and is currently focusing on both Disputes and Corporate matters.

During law school, Ryan provided pro bono services to underserved communities as a student caseworker with uOttawa’s Ticket Defence Program. Ryan also acted as a writing leader with uOttawa’s Legal Writing Academy and a Dean’s research fellow, mentoring first-year law students on effective legal research and writing skills. Before starting law school, Ryan worked in logistics and the service industry.

Ryan chose BLG because of the firm’s reputation as an industry leader and demonstrated emphasis on mentorship, student development, and inclusive teamwork. While summering, BLG offered diverse opportunities for meaningful contributions, and Ryan was drawn to the exceptional atmosphere of support that the firm cultivated for personal and professional development.

In his free time, Ryan enjoys golfing and outdoor recreation, travelling abroad to learn about historical sites, and discovering new recipes to try at home.
