Annie is an articling student at BLG’s Toronto office for the 2023-2024 term.
In law school, Annie served as the Co-President of the Asian Law Students Association, the Vice-Chair of Student Caucus, and the Dean’s Fellow for Contracts Law. Annie also worked at the Community and Legal Aid Services Program and the Investor Protection Clinic. This year, Annie received the Omatsu Scholarship and the Osgoode Dean’s Gold Key Award, both of which recognize her leadership and commitment to the legal profession and the law school community. Annie has regularly volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada and Law in Action Within Schools. Currently, she is a Student Director of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (FACL).
Annie continues to mentor pre-law and law students, in addition to coaching mock trials and mooting competitions. She is fluent in Mandarin and Taiwanese Hokkien.
Prior to BLG, Annie worked in the Office of the General Counsel at an international law firm.
Annie had her heart set on BLG from the time she participated in the Law School Access Program (sponsored by the Firm) as an undergraduate student. To her, what stood out was the Firm’s collegial environment, phenomenal mentors, and innovative spirit. Annie is thrilled that BLG encourages students to build their own adventure, especially on emerging areas of law. Given BLG’s breadth of subject-matter expertise, Annie is looking forward to working alongside many industry leaders.
In Annie’s spare time, she enjoys playing piano and violin, learning new languages, exploring cafés, and volunteering with non-profit organizations and pre-law initiatives.
