Callum Hutchinson

Summer Student

Callum is a summer student in the Disputes department at BLG’s Toronto office.

At law school, Callum serves on the Editorial Board for two law journals, assists start-ups at the Queen’s Business Law Clinic, and tutors his first-year peers. Callum advocated at the 2021 Jessup International Law Moot, where his team won Second Place Memorials at the national rounds. An avid performer, Callum sings rock and opera, dances, and plays drums at Lawlapalooza and the Queen’s Law Cancer Society Cabaret.

Prior to joining BLG, Callum interned at Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and the Centre for Law and Democracy.

Callum chose BLG because every lawyer is an expert in their field. BLG lawyers are passionate about their clients and about the law itself, and Callum could not ask for a better environment to develop his own expertise. Callum enjoys discovering the breadth of interests he shares with the lawyers and students at BLG: history, theatre, heavy metal, and even kimchi!

Outside law, Callum is a prolific writer. He has two published academic articles under his belt, and his award-winning Holocaust drama, Richard and Reinhard, received a public reading last year. He is currently revising his young adult fantasy novel, "The Girl With Violet Eyes".
