Hessam is an articling student at BLG’s Vancouver office. He specializes in international investment arbitration and he has published insights on this subject.

Before joining BLG, Hessam worked as an attorney at law in Iran. He advised and represented several clients in domestic and international matters mainly related to commercial arbitration, construction disputes, intellectual property and corporate law. He was involved in a number of international arbitration cases as co-counsel, legal advisor and tribunal secretary.

As a student at UBC, Hessam volunteered at the Graduate Law Students Society (GLSS).

Through his legal experience in Iran and the Netherlands, Hessam recognized BLG’s practice in the areas of construction law and international arbitration, and he aspired to be a part of its leading international disputes resolution team. Hessam values the comprehensive and hands on mentorship program offered by the Firm.

In his spare time, Hessam enjoys cooking for his family and friends, cinematic art and reading film critiques. He also loves being in nature and going on long hikes with his wife.
