Claudia Wheler is a articling student in BLG’s Vancouver office where she focuses on Specialized Disputes and Corporate and Capital Markets.

Before joining BLG, Claudia wrote Indigenous rights assessments on behalf of the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada and developed a sustainability framework for a Canadian mining company’s operations in Peru. Claudia also completed her MBA as part of her joint degree program.

Claudia chose to work at BLG because of their national reach and evident sense of team. As a former varsity athlete she appreciates the strong collaborative culture of the firm and enjoys the sense of comradery both in the office and at extracurricular events. This, along with BLG’s scope of expertise in a diverse set of practice areas, made the firm a natural fit for her.

At school, Claudia is on the Environmental Law Student executive and is co-founder and Vice President of the Legal Innovation Hub that brings lawyers, students, and academics together to share ideas on innovation in practice.

In her free time Claudia loves to be outdoors on her bike or hiking with friends to a new view along one of Vancouver’s many nature trails.
