Daniel practises primarily in the areas of Energy – Power Regulatory, Commercial Litigation, and Franchising.
In the Energy-Power Regulatory area, Daniel has acted for transmission clients in rate matters, including tariff applications, deferral account proceedings, and asset transfer matters. Daniel has also acted for generation clients in facility applications and tariff-related proceedings. His experience in this area includes practice before the Alberta Utilities Commission, the Alberta Court of Appeal, and leave applications to the Supreme Court of Canada.
Daniel’s Commercial Litigation practice includes significant oil & gas related litigation, including product liability matters and operatorship disputes. Daniel also has experience in securities and related litigation, including acting for issuers in defence of investor class actions and defending broker negligence claims. Daniel has also acted in matters before the Alberta Securities Commission.
With respect to Franchising, Daniel primarily acts for franchisors in disputes with franchisees, including court-based litigation and private arbitration.
