Julia maintains a broad civil litigation practice. She regularly advocates for clients on a range of matters, including public law, securities law, contractual disputes, and professional negligence. She has appeared at all levels of court in Ontario and has acted on leave applications to the Supreme Court of Canada.

After summering and articling at BLG, Julia served as a clerk at the Court of Appeal for Ontario to The Honourable David Watt, The Honourable Benjamin Zarnett and Justice Eileen E. Gillese. She also spent a year working in commercial barristers’ chambers as a Harold G. Fox Scholar in London, England.

While at law school, Julia completed a clerkship for Justices  Mew and Tranmer of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and an internship with the Department of Justice. She ultimately graduated with a medal in law for receiving a top three standing in her graduating year.

Experience

  • Assisted the Honourable Thomas Cromwell to complete an independent review of Hockey Canada's corporate governance and its management of the National Equity Fund.
  • Agrest v. Pekker, 2023 ONCA 616, counsel for the respondent in an appeal of Ontario’s jurisdiction to enforce a judgment made by a foreign court.
