Daphne Chu

Étudiante

Toronto

Daphne is an articling student at BLG’s Toronto office for the 2022-2023 term.

While pursuing her studies in the joint Political Science and Common Law program at the University of Ottawa, Daphne co-founded a mentorship program to help first-year law students transition to remote law school during the pandemic. She also served as a peer mentor and translator on the Common Law Student Society.

Prior to joining BLG, Daphne volunteered at Pro Bono Ontario, where she advocated for self-represented litigants in the Small Claims Court and Superior Court. She also worked at the House of Commons in Parliamentary committees. Daphne is fluent in English, French and Cantonese.

Daphne chose to work at BLG because of how warm and welcoming the people are. During the interview process, Daphne was very impressed with how genuine and kind everyone was. She is looking forward to contributing to BLG’s top-tier legal work and learning from skilled and talented lawyers.

In her spare time, Daphne enjoys trying new vegan recipes, spending time in nature, and playing board games with her friends.
