Emma is a returning summer student at BLG’s Toronto office for the 2020 summer term and she focuses on business law.
While pursuing her studies in the joint B.Com./J.D. program at the University of Ottawa, Emma was a Junior Analyst at Nanos Research for four years and more recently a Policy Analyst at the Federation of Law Societies of Canada. In law school, Emma was the Editor-in-Chief, French Articles of the Ottawa Law Review, a Research Assistant for a legal ethics professor, and a Teaching Assistant for a dispute resolution and professional responsibility professor. She also co-founded a peer-mentorship program and mentors a number of students as they transition to law school. Emma is fluent in English and French.
Emma chose BLG because of the extent of its corporate practice and the fact it is the biggest law firm in Canada. She particularly appreciates the importance BLG places on mentorship and building lawyers from the ground up. Students are considered valuable members of the firm at BLG.
As a show jumping equestrian athlete, Emma trained and competed across Québec and Ontario while achieving academic excellence over the last several years. She is a three-time provincial champion and three-time competitor at the Canadian championships at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.
In her spare time, Emma enjoys trying out Jamie Oliver recipes, hiking and participating in local charity runs, horseback riding, petting her wiener dog, and spending quality time with family and friends.
