Hollyfrontier Corp. announces C$1.125B acquisition of Suncor Energy Inc.’s Petro-Canada lubricants unit

On October 31, 2016 HollyFrontier Corporation (HFC) entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Suncor Energy's Petro-Canada Lubricants business for C$1.125 billion. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2017. 

HFC is an independent petroleum refiner in the United States with operations throughout the mid-continent, southwestern and Rocky Mountain regions.

Suncor Energy is a Canadian integrated energy company based in Calgary, Alberta specializing in the production of synthetic crude from oil sands.
